Legal & Policy Notices

Policies, privacy, and the fine print.

Everything we're required to tell you, written in plain English wherever the law lets us. If anything is unclear, email us at support@collarian.com.

1. Important Disclaimers

FDA & Health Claims

The statements on this website have not been evaluated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Collarian products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease — including, without limitation, Lyme disease, anaplasmosis, ehrlichiosis, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, babesiosis, or any other tick-borne or flea-borne illness affecting dogs or humans.

What Collarian Is and Is Not

Collarian is a wearable repellent collar designed to help repel fleas and ticks from your dog during normal daily wear through a slow-release blend of plant-based active ingredients. Collarian is not a pesticide that "kills on contact," a veterinary medication, a vaccine, a prescription product, or a substitute for professional veterinary care. It is not designed to treat an active flea infestation in your home, and it is not intended for use on cats, livestock, or any animal other than dogs and puppies 8 weeks of age and older.

Results May Vary

Every dog, household, climate, and parasite-pressure environment is different. Individual results from using Collarian will vary based on factors including your dog's breed, coat type, weight, behavior, the regional prevalence of fleas and ticks, seasonal conditions, frequency of swimming or bathing, and consistent collar wear. No repellent product, including Collarian, can guarantee 100% protection. We make no representation that you will see any specific outcome.

EPA & Pesticide Regulation

Collarian's active ingredients are intended to meet the criteria for minimum-risk pesticides exempt from federal registration under section 25(b) of the U.S. Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA). State pesticide-registration requirements vary, and Collarian may not be available in every state. Where required, the product is registered or notified with the applicable state lead agency. Always follow all label directions and warnings included with your product.

Read the label. The label and quick-start card included with your collar contain the full ingredient list, age and weight guidance, wear instructions, and safety warnings. Those instructions, not the marketing copy on this website, govern proper use.

External Links

This website may contain links to third-party websites that are not owned or controlled by Collarian. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or accuracy of any third-party site. Following an external link is at your own risk.

Forward-Looking Statements

Statements on this website that are not strictly historical fact — including statements about future product availability, batch timing, expected results, or planned features — are forward-looking and based on current expectations. They are not promises and are subject to change without notice.

2. Testimonials, Reviews & AI-Generated Content

We take honesty in advertising seriously, including under the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's Rule on the Use of Consumer Reviews and Testimonials (16 C.F.R. Part 465).

Verified Reviews

Customer reviews displayed on this website are collected from verified purchasers through [REVIEW PLATFORM NAME — e.g., Okendo / Junip / Stamped / Shopify Reviews]. We do not edit, suppress, alter, or selectively display negative reviews to improve our overall rating. Reviewers may have received a discount, promotional code, or, in some cases, a free product in exchange for an honest review; where this is the case, those reviews are clearly labeled.

Incentivized & Affiliate Disclosures

Some content on or linked from this website — including blog posts, social media posts, and third-party reviews — may be created by individuals who received free product, promotional codes, or monetary compensation from Collarian. Where applicable, those creators are required to disclose the material connection consistent with the FTC's Endorsement Guides (16 C.F.R. Part 255). We do not author, ghostwrite, or script the substance of any third-party review.

Stock Imagery & Illustrative Photos

Some lifestyle photographs of dogs displayed on this website are licensed stock photography and do not depict actual customers or specific Collarian customers' dogs. Product photography depicts actual Collarian product.

AI-Generated Content

We may use generative artificial-intelligence tools to assist with editorial drafting, copy editing, FAQ writing, and customer-service responses. Any customer review, testimonial, quote, photograph, or video that is attributed to a named individual on this website is a real submission from that real individual, used with permission. We do not publish AI-generated reviews or fabricated customer testimonials.

Press & Media Mentions

Where we display third-party press logos or quotes, those references are intended to indicate that the publication has covered the broader product category, topic, or company. They do not imply endorsement of Collarian by the publication or its writers.

3. Veterinary & Pet Safety

Nothing on this website constitutes veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a licensed veterinarian regarding the health, medication, and parasite-prevention plan for your individual dog.

Talk to Your Vet First If Your Dog Is:

  • Under 8 weeks of age
  • Pregnant or nursing
  • Elderly, frail, or in declining health
  • Currently on prescription medication (including, but not limited to, anticonvulsants, MAO inhibitors, immunosuppressants, or other flea/tick products)
  • Diagnosed with epilepsy or any seizure disorder
  • Known to have skin sensitivities, allergies, or a history of contact dermatitis
  • Recovering from surgery or an open wound near the collar area

Active Infestations

Collarian is designed as a daily-defense repellent worn during normal activity. It is not intended to eradicate an existing flea infestation in your home or yard. If you are managing an active infestation, talk to your veterinarian about treatment options and follow standard environmental measures (laundering bedding, vacuuming, treating shared pets, and addressing your yard).

Stop Use If

  • You observe redness, hair loss, hot spots, persistent scratching at the collar, or any skin reaction at the contact area
  • Your dog shows signs of lethargy, vomiting, tremors, drooling, or behavioral changes following collar wear
  • Your veterinarian advises you to discontinue use

If you observe a suspected adverse reaction, remove the collar, rinse the contact area with mild soap and water, contact your veterinarian, and contact us at support@collarian.com. In a medical emergency, contact your veterinarian or the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center at 1-888-426-4435 (a consultation fee may apply).

Cats & Other Animals

Collarian is for dogs only. Certain botanical compounds that are safe for dogs at the levels used in Collarian can affect cats and other species differently. If you have cats, ferrets, birds, fish, or other animals that share bedding or close contact with your dog, consult your veterinarian before use.

Tick Checks

No repellent product eliminates the need for a manual tick check after outdoor exposure in tick-prevalent areas. Always inspect your dog (and yourself) after walks in tall grass, wooded areas, or known tick habitats, and remove any attached ticks promptly using a proper tick-removal tool.

Legal Bases (EEA / UK Residents)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases under the GDPR / UK GDPR to process your personal data: (a) performance of a contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b)); (b) compliance with a legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)); (c) your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you may withdraw at any time; and (d) our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and marketing our business, balanced against your rights and freedoms (Art. 6(1)(f)).

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We do share personal information with the following categories of recipients, only as needed to operate our business:

  • Service providers and processors: Shopify (e-commerce platform and hosting), payment processors (e.g., Shopify Payments, Stripe, PayPal, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay), shipping carriers (e.g., USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL), order-tracking and customer-service tools, fraud-prevention services, email and SMS service providers, review platforms, and cloud-storage providers.
  • Advertising and analytics partners: Meta (Facebook/Instagram), Google (Analytics & Ads), TikTok, Pinterest, and similar platforms. Depending on applicable law, some of this sharing may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under U.S. state privacy laws (see Section 7).
  • Professional advisors: lawyers, accountants, auditors, and insurers, under duties of confidentiality.
  • Authorities and others as required by law: to respond to lawful requests, subpoenas, or court orders; to protect our rights and safety; or to investigate fraud.
  • In a business transaction: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of our business, subject to standard confidentiality protections.

Payment Processors

Payment card information is collected directly by our payment processors (such as Shopify Payments, Stripe, PayPal, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, and Google Pay) under their own privacy policies. We do not see or store your full card number, expiration date, or security code. We receive only confirmation of the transaction and limited card metadata (such as the last four digits and card type) for our records and fraud prevention.

International Data Transfers

Our service providers may process personal data in the United States, Canada, the European Union, and other countries. Where data is transferred from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland to a country that has not been deemed to provide an adequate level of data protection, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or, where applicable, the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

How Long We Keep Your Information

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide our products and services and as required by law (including tax, accounting, and consumer-protection retention periods, which in the United States are typically up to seven years for transaction records). When retention is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize the data.

Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, and PCI-DSS-compliant payment processing through our payment partners. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Our website uses cookies, pixels, SDKs, local storage, and similar technologies (collectively, "cookies") to operate the site, remember your cart, understand how visitors use the site, and deliver and measure advertising.

Categories We Use

  • Strictly necessary: required for basic site functions such as page loading, cart, checkout, and security. These cannot be disabled.
  • Functional / preferences: remember choices you make, such as language or region.
  • Analytics & performance: measure how visitors use our site so we can improve it (e.g., Google Analytics, Shopify analytics).
  • Advertising & targeting: deliver, personalize, and measure ads on third-party platforms (e.g., Meta Pixel, Google Ads conversion tags, TikTok Pixel, Pinterest Tag).

Your Choices

You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies; doing so may break some site features (such as your cart). EEA, UK, and Swiss visitors will see a cookie banner allowing you to accept or reject non-essential cookies. California and other U.S. state residents may exercise opt-out rights as described in Section 7, including by clicking "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" in our website footer (when present) or by enabling Global Privacy Control (GPC) in your browser, which we honor as a valid opt-out signal.

Do Not Track

Our website does not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals, because there is no industry-standard definition of how to do so. We do honor GPC signals as described above.

Browser Cookie Controls

For more on cookie controls in major browsers, see: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge.

6. Email & SMS Marketing

Email

If you give us your email address — through a purchase, an account signup, a contact form, or a marketing form — we may send you transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping updates, refund notices, account notices) and, where permitted by law, marketing emails about products, restocks, sales, and content we think you'll find useful.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any marketing email, or by emailing support@collarian.com. We will continue to send transactional emails related to your orders even after you unsubscribe from marketing.

Marketing emails comply with the U.S. CAN-SPAM Act (15 U.S.C. § 7701 et seq.), Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), and applicable EU/UK rules.

SMS / Text Messages

If you provide your mobile number and consent to receive text messages from us, we may send you transactional and recurring marketing text messages from Collarian, including cart reminders, order updates, restock notices, and promotions. Consent is not a condition of any purchase.

  • Message frequency varies.
  • Message and data rates may apply.
  • To opt out at any time, reply STOP to any text message you receive from us. You will receive a confirmation of your opt-out.
  • For help, reply HELP or contact support@collarian.com.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile number with third parties for their marketing purposes. Your number is shared only with our SMS service provider for the purpose of delivering messages to you.

Our SMS program complies with the U.S. Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the CTIA Messaging Principles & Best Practices, and applicable carrier rules.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to: (a) use the Site for any unlawful purpose; (b) scrape, harvest, or otherwise extract data without our written permission; (c) attempt to interfere with or compromise the security of the Site; (d) reverse engineer, decompile, or copy any portion of the Site; (e) misrepresent yourself or impersonate any person or entity; or (f) submit false, misleading, defamatory, or infringing content (including reviews).

Pricing, Availability & Errors

All product descriptions, prices, and availability are subject to change without notice. We reserve the right to correct any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions on the Site (including in pricing) and to cancel orders that result from such errors, even after an order has been submitted or confirmed.

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SITE AND THE PRODUCTS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES, SO PORTIONS OF THIS DISCLAIMER MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS ANY NON-WAIVABLE STATUTORY RIGHTS YOU HAVE AS A CONSUMER.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COLLARIAN AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR THE PRODUCTS. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SITE OR THE PRODUCTS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE PRODUCT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100). NOTHING IN THIS SECTION LIMITS LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED BY LAW (INCLUDING LIABILITY FOR GROSS NEGLIGENCE, FRAUD, OR WILLFUL MISCONDUCT).

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Collarian and its affiliates from any claim, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Site or products, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [STATE], without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in [COUNTY, STATE], and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue there.

Optional arbitration clause (consult counsel before using). Some merchants prefer to add a binding-arbitration and class-action waiver provision here, with a clear 30-day opt-out period and exceptions for small-claims court and injunctive relief. Whether this is enforceable depends on your jurisdiction and how it is drafted, including under the U.S. Federal Arbitration Act and recent FTC and state-level developments. Have a lawyer prepare this language if you want it.

Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. 30-Day Happy Dog Guarantee & Refund Policy

The Guarantee, in Plain English

If you don't see fewer fleas, fewer ticks, less scratching, or less anxiety in your dog within 30 days of receiving your collar, email us at support@collarian.com within 30 days of delivery and we'll refund every dollar you paid for the product, in full. No restocking fee. No argument.

How to Claim Your Refund

  1. Email support@collarian.com within 30 days of receiving your order. Include your order number, the email used to place the order, and a sentence about why the product didn't work for your dog (this helps us improve — it's not a gatekeeping step).
  2. We will respond with confirmation and, where applicable, a prepaid return label.
  3. Once we receive the returned collar(s), we will issue a refund to your original payment method within 10 business days. Your bank may take additional time to post the refund.

What's Covered

  • The full purchase price of the product.
  • One Happy Dog Guarantee claim per household per 12-month period.

What's Not Covered

  • Original shipping charges (if you were charged shipping at checkout).
  • Return shipping in the case of buyer's remorse outside the 30-day window.
  • Items that are visibly damaged, modified, or unsealed in a way unrelated to normal use, where the damage is not the result of a defect or shipping issue.

Damaged, Defective, or Wrong Item

Inspect your order upon arrival. If anything is defective, damaged, or incorrect, email us at support@collarian.com with photos within 7 days of delivery. We will replace the item or issue a full refund at our cost, including return shipping.

Exchanges

The fastest way to get something different is to request a refund for your original order under the policy above, and place a new order for the item you want.

EU / UK Statutory Withdrawal Rights

If you live in the EU or UK, you also have a statutory right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of delivery, without giving a reason, in accordance with applicable consumer-protection law. This right is separate from our 30-Day Happy Dog Guarantee and does not affect it.

11. Shipping Policy

Where We Ship

We ship to the contiguous United States, Alaska, and Hawaii. [INTERNATIONAL — delete or list countries.] We do not currently ship to APO/FPO/DPO addresses or P.O. boxes [CONFIRM].

Processing Time

Orders are typically processed and packed within 1–3 business days after the order is placed. Orders placed on weekends or holidays will be processed on the next business day.

Delivery Time (After Shipment)

  • Contiguous United States: 4–6 business days.
  • Alaska & Hawaii: 6–10 business days.
  • International (where offered): 9–14 business days, excluding customs delays.

Carriers may include USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, or a local postal service, selected by us based on your address and the most reliable available service. Delivery times are estimates, not guarantees. Delays may occur during peak periods (Black Friday, Cyber Monday, December holidays, severe weather, carrier service disruptions).

Tracking

Once your order ships, you will receive an email with a tracking number. Tracking events may take 24–48 hours to populate after the carrier picks up the package.

Lost or Stolen Packages

If your tracking shows a package as delivered but you have not received it, please wait 48 hours (carriers sometimes mark packages delivered prematurely), check with neighbors and your household, and contact your local carrier with the tracking number. If the package still cannot be located, email support@collarian.com within 14 days of the delivery date and we will help investigate.

International Customs, Duties & Taxes

International orders may be subject to import duties, taxes, and customs fees imposed by the destination country. These charges are the recipient's responsibility and are not included in the product price or shipping charge at checkout. We are not responsible for delays caused by customs.

Address Accuracy

You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address at checkout. If a package is returned to us because of an incorrect or incomplete address, we will contact you to arrange reshipment at the original shipping cost.
